Oh gosh! I lost focus! I seriously can’t study today IDK why. I just can’t look at the book for more than a minute. I guess I’ll just blog about the Penang trip and study later. OK DAMN I guess I’ll leave this post for later. Cause I feel real guilty for choosing blogging over my studies. BAI!
Firstly,
Merry Christmas everyone!
I was detached with the internet for a period of time cause my aunt is in London and she forgot to pay the bills –.-
Anyway, continue with my Penang trip! Hah yeah I took crazy loads of photos in just a 2D1N trip that I had to separate them into so many posts.
Remember on the first post I mentioned about the food we ate at some random restaurant cause we couldn’t find the Kek Lok Si famous asam laksa? The food there was wet and blerghhh. Thank goodness the rest of the food during the trip isn’t like that!
On the first day, after all that swimming and taking photos at the beach. We were all super hungry so we head down to Gurney Drive.
It’s like a big food court with many hawker stalls. Char kuay teow, cendol, apam balik, asam laksa, cockles and lots more.
From the top: wan tan mee(on the left), fish ball glass noodles(blue bowl on the right), cockles!!!, leong cha and rojak.
The wan tan mee was just so-so to me. Okay actually I kinda forgot if it’s fish ball or meat ball but inside the ball there’s mince meat and it’s really juicy! When you bite the fish/meat ball, there’s juice leaking out! *thumbs up*
The cockles were too clean for me. –.- I think the seller is really hygienic. I don’t like cockles that are too clean haha! The rojak is just normal, nothing much to shout about.
The char kuay teow that took my brother almost 20 minutes to get it. There’s so many char kuay teow stall there but that’s the only one with a queue.
If you wanna try, go towards the end of Gurney Drive(the end which is towards a shopping mall). I think you’ll see the queue.
Didn’t take much photos cause we were all very hungry haha!
After filling up our stomachs, we went to a night market which was along the road on our way back to the hotel.
Saw a few stalls selling all this pretty lantern lights. :)
Look at all these pretty Chinese looking boxes. So pweeeeety! :)
Just some random bullshit I took haha!

The next morning, we had complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Nyum nyummmm!
I wanted Honey Star!!! But they only provide corn flakes and some weird looking cereal blerghhh. Mummy never let me buy cereals so that I could eat for breakfast whenever I walk pass them in the supermarket pffft.
I saw the ang moh behind keep looking at my dad. He must be wondering why do they read newspapers during breakfast. Not only my dad does that. There were a few Chinese men doing the exact same thing. HAHA! Our culture.
Later in the afternoon, after checking out. We went to this famous row of shops that sell Penang manufactured food. Mummy wanted to buy some back to London to give her cousin. The shops were all selling similar stuff. We just didn’t know which to buy from. Just randomly choose this!
Just look at how much junk they sell!
Assorted pickles!!!
Guess what this cooling powder is for? For beauty purposes! Haha mummy told me that my great grandma use to make her own cooling powder and put it on her face.
Anyway, after that we went to a small shabby restaurant for lunch. It’s somewhere near the row of biscuit shops.
That man on the left of this picture is the owner of this place. There was a really young picture of him selling cendol inside the restaurant.
The place may be small but many celebrities came all the way just to eat here. And hah only RM3 for one bowl of laksa. Where can you get that price in KL?
Look at the thickness of ‘har gou’ in the spoon :DDD
Done with the Penang trip. I’m now hungry after drooling at all the food pictures –.-
GTG eat now
tata.
